Communications

Chair: DIANA BRAUN

The Communications Committee manages BOCA's website and Google Group, minutes for our meetings, and outreach to the rest of the Canyon and community. We assure coordination with Canyon School, Rustic Canyon park, Santa Monica Canyon Civic Association, the Palisades Community Council, and various departments of the City of Los Angeles.

Environment  

Chair: WES HOUGH & SHARON KILBRIDE

The Environment Committee works on keep the beach tunnels clean, safe, dry, and well lit; on landscaping and street furnishings; on trash collection; and on environmental and anti-pollution issues. We work with the City of Los Angeles Street Services division, Bureau of Street Lighting, and Bureau of Sanitation.

Membership

Chair: CHRISTINE DARRIN

The Membership Committee maintains the membership roster, welcomes new residents, recruits new members, and handles the outreach to our neighborhood merchants and merchant members.

Safety 

Chair: CHRISTY LOWE

The Safety Committee focuses on earthquake preparedness, crime reporting and prevention, and ensuring safe routes to Canyon School. We coordinate with the Santa Monica Canyon Civic Association (SMCCA), and the West Los Angeles Police Community Police Advisory Board (CPAB).

Traffic & Walkability

Co-Chairs: JONA FRANK & ADRIENNE CHANDHOK

The Traffic & Walkability Committee works on traffic calming and speed humps; reducing negative traffic impacts from PCH (including the pending closure of the California Incline); and improving the walking environment of the neighborhood on our streets, sidewalks, and staircases, We coordinate with the Santa Monica Canyon Civic Association (SMCCA), LAPD's West Los Angeles Traffic office, LADOT, Caltrans, and the City of Santa Monica Traffic Department.
